Popkorner ("we", "us", or "our") is a movie discovery app. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.

• We do not collect your location
• We do not collect your contacts or address book
• We do not collect health, financial, or biometric data
• We do not use advertising trackers or analytics SDKs
• We do not sell or share your data with advertisers
• Note: Apple may collect anonymized usage and crash data through its built-in App Analytics system, subject to your device privacy settings. We do not use any additional third-party analytics or crash reporting services.

3. How We Collect Data

• Directly from you — when you create an account, write a review, upload a photo, or add a movie to your watchlist.
• Sign in with Apple — Apple provides an identity token and, if you choose, your email address.
• Device sensors — motion data is read locally on your device for visual effects and is never sent to any server.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate the app:

• Supabase (supabase.com) — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage. Your account data, reviews, and watchlist are stored in Supabase's infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy.
• TMDB (themoviedb.org) — provides movie metadata (titles, posters, descriptions, release dates). We query TMDB on your behalf; no personal data is sent to TMDB. TMDB Privacy Policy.

We do not use any advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting third-party services.

The app may contain links to external websites (such as TMDB movie pages or streaming services). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.

6. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to provide and improve the Popkorner app:

• Authenticate you and maintain your session
• Display your reviews, ratings, and watchlist
• Show your profile to you (and, if you share a review card, to recipients)
• Display your public profile, reviews, and activity to other Popkorner users who follow you or visit your profile
• Improve app performance and fix bugs

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.

7. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase's cloud infrastructure with the following protections:

• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
• Database access is protected by Row Level Security — users can only access their own data
• Authentication tokens are managed by Supabase Auth
• Profile photos are stored in access-controlled Supabase Storage buckets

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete all associated data, including:

• Your profile and account information
• All reviews and ratings
• Your watchlist
• Your profile photo
• Your authentication record

Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — view your profile, reviews, and watchlist directly in the app.
• Delete your data — delete your account from the app (Settings > Account Settings > Delete Account). This permanently removes all your data.
• Withdraw consent — you can stop using the app at any time. Deleting the app alone does not delete your account; use the in-app deletion option first.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to request portability of your data and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In France, the relevant authority is the CNIL (cnil.fr). If you are unsatisfied with how we handle your data or a data request, please contact us first at privacy@popkorner.app so we can try to resolve it directly.

10. Children's Privacy

Popkorner is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum digital age of consent in your country, if higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If we learn we have collected data from a child under the applicable age minimum, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Effective date" above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
